Rossburn Elementary Hosts Second Annual Science Fair
Rossburn Elementary School held its Second Annual Science Fair on Friday February 5. Forty more projects than last year increased participation to 92 entries from K through 8. Winners across levels include students from Grade 1 through 8 with topics ranging from magnets and solids to astronomy and wildlife. Several winners advance to Pelly Trail’s First Divisional Science Fair on February 19 in Rossburn. Judges were Gerald de Denis, Leonard Bartko, Peggy Watson and Rick Plaisier.

Oakburn Rinks Triumph At Benito UCY Bonspiel
Oakburn curling teams excelled at Benito in a Ukrainian Catholic Youth Association bonspiel. Merv Stebeleski’s rink won the Grand Challenge. Jerry Wasylkiw’s team took first in the second event and Cynthia Leganchuk’s squad finished second in the same event. Hosts Benito Club praised for hospitality.

Rossburn U C W Holds Regular Meet in February Annexe
The Rossburn U C W met February 9 in the annex with Mrs. L C Johnston leading devotions on Worship from New Testament verses. New president Mrs. C McTavish chaired, thanked retiring leader Johnston. Roll call used crayons and scrapbooks for Valentine Day. A rummage sale is planned for February 19 in Town Hall with setup Feb 18 and donations to Mrs. Veitch or Mrs. Armstrong. Brain Twisters contest to follow How Old is London read by Mrs. Cormack.

Vista U C W Meeting Recaps February Session
The Vista U C W held its February meeting at Isabel Miller's home with eight members. Isabel Miller chaired in the president's absence. Edythe Young offered the opening prayer with a devotional by Joan Baker. A $100 manse fund donation was approved. A March 12 pot luck with slides by Mr. and Mrs. Pritchard is planned. Next meeting is at Dorothy Armstrong's with Steffie Bilinski delivering the devotional.
