Manitoba appoints board to license large lotteries

Three Manitoban appointees join the newly established provincial lotteries licensing board announced by Attorney General Al Mackling. The Rossburn Hospital Aux iliary Bonspiel concluded on Saturday January 23 with teams finishing in two events. In First Event Don Stitts rink took first with Louis Kurchaba second Eugene Caldwell third and Lorne Hrysak fourth. In Second Event Jack Sectors rink won first Norman Scarrow placed second Alex Cleland third and Harry Aylwin fourth.

Obituary for Mary Anne McFeetors of Rossburn

Mary Anne McFeetors of Rossburn died January 30 1971 at Misericordia Hospital aged 73. She married Orville McFeetors in 1923 and lived on a Birdtail farm before moving to the Stitt homestead south of Rossburn in 1982. Survived by six children, 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers. Funeral held February 2 at Rossburn United Church with interment in the family plot. Rae's Funeral Home in charge. flowers declined. memorials to the Rossburn United Church Fund.

Rossburn Girls Sweep to Junior High Tournament Victory

Rossburn hosted a junior high basketball tournament on Saturday January 23. The girls beat Angusville 6-4 and Inglis 30-7 before defeating Russell 32-2 to win the title. The boys division also claimed the crown by beating Inglis 27-21, Binscorth 32-13, and Angusville 34-4. Coaches Maureen Lloyd and Rick Plaisier led the teams as the season opens strong.
