Pelly Trail School Board to Hold Rossburn Meeting on Feb 25

The Pelly Trail School Division met in Rossburn on Feb 10 with officials from Rossburn Village, Rossburn RM, Silver Creek RM, Russell Town, and Strathclair RM. A public meeting at Rossburn Town Hall is set for Feb 25 at 8:00 p.m. to explain the School By law financing and voting procedures and to inform electors.

Inglis Rink Wins Pelly Trail Girls Championship

In the girls Pelly Trail Bonspiel Inglis rink led by Miss Kay captured the Pelly Trail Teachers Trophy by defeating rivals for the title. Rossburn teams won the Second Event with Miss L Hrysak guiding the rink.

Vista Bonspiel Nears Finals With Tight Three Event Battle

Play is nearing the finals of the Vista Bonspiel with keen competition in three events. Of 32 rinks entered 11 are from Vista 8 from Oakburn 7 from Rossburn 4 from Shoal Lake and 1 each from Kelloe and Selsgirth.

Rossburn Hospital Auxiliary Elects Vice President

The January meeting elected Barbara Fink as new Vice President replacing Joyce Stewart who left. A lunch sale is planned for the High School Dance on Feb 5 and a silver spoon will be given to the first baby born in 1965 to Mrs Barnesky. Next meeting at Mrs Pritchard’s home on Feb 23. new members welcome.

Stefan Citulski 71 Dies in Winnipeg Funeral Held

Stefan Steve Citulski formerly of Shoal Lake died at Misericordia Hospital Winnipeg on February 3 aged 71. He was born in the Ukraine and came to Canada in 1900. Survived by son John and four daughters. burial in Shoal Lake Cemetery after prayers at Ukrainian National Home and funeral at Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Rossburn Rural Council February Meeting

The Rossburn Rural Council read and confirmed meetings, adopted the year end 1964 and January 1965 financial report, appointed Hugh Armstrong as arbitrator over land transfer petition, set Caterpillar Patrol and Snowplow rate at 7.00 per hour, approved bills, and adjourned to March 9, 1965 at 1 PM.

United Church Women Meet VISTA U C W

The regular Vista U C W met on February 3 at Mrs. Wm. Stitt's home with six members and two visitors present. Joan Baker led the devotional and gave a paper on Brazilia the new capital of Brazil. Business included reviewing remnants from Eatons and Simpsons and handling several items of correspondence.

Rossburn U C W February Meeting Notes

The February Rossburn U C W meeting was held in the church annex with 15 members attending. Mrs M Lawless and Mrs M Hamilton led devotions and preparations included training for witnesses and plans for missions and World Day of Prayer activities. Items included gifts to shut ins, a Wasaga Church Camp donation, Bazaar remnants order, and the upcoming Presbyterial in Birtle on March 23.

Mr. Clayton of Gladstone spent last week with R. B. Clayton and boys. Mike Belinsky and Bill Chegus with Miss Nellie Belinsky were in Brandon on Tuesday.
