The Wheat Board Advisory Committee met January 27 1978 with nine members three commissioners and senior staff. Discussion covered the proposed International Wheat Agreement its effects on grain marketing and Canadian producers with notes on prices quotas and logistics for 1978 including durum pool changes and Beacon barley contracts. The next meeting is February 17 1978 and District 2 meeting February 22 in Dauphin at 9:30 am.

Inter‑faith Marriage Prep Courses Set in Russell and Birtle
An Anglican Alliance Lutheran Presbyterian Roman Catholic and United group offers Marriage Preparation courses at the United Church in Russell on Feb 11 and in Birtle on Feb 18. Sessions run 1 30 to 4 30 pm on the second Saturday in Russell and third Saturday in Birtle, about three hours, covering communication, finances, sexuality and related topics. Further Donations To Recreation Commission Project
The Ice Machine Fund total has continued to increase this week with donations from Gordon and Jean Plant of Thunder Bay Ontario 10.00 and Mrs Marion Berney 75.00 and Marcella Stefanin 20.00 bringing this week's total to 105.00 A final financial statement of Ice Machine expenses will be published in next week’s issue of The Review.

Angusville wins ringette title at Gilbert Plains finals
The Rossburn girls were eliminated after losses to Angusville and Grandview as Angusville advanced to finals by defeating Rossburn Russell and Roblin. Angusville beat Grandview to claim the finals and will proceed to Roblin regional play offs. The district reports strong winter games results across broom ball hockey speed skating ringette table tennis and volleyball with teams set to represent at Roblin games. Recreation Office closures announced for Thursday and Friday.

Rossburn Lions Arena Fund Nears Debt Clearance
The Rossburn Lions Club Arena Building Committee reports a reduced debt after lottery grants. Outstanding loan stands at 497.80 with 1848.44 in accounts payable, totaling 2346.24. Lunch counter profits of 900 this year go to the arena fund. stock is about 1500. Activities include a quilt raffle, lunch counter proceeds, recycling, and weekly bingo to finish paying off the debt. Paper Depot pickups set for Saturday, February 1th.

Village Council Sets Conditions for Rossburn Water Project
The Village of Rossburn held a special meeting January 30 1978 to review a Manitoba Water Services Board report on water and sewer extensions for N W 144 Sec 30 19 24 W P M. Council proposed a revised scope limiting main lines to areas A to B and Victoria Avenue manhole C, eliminating outer services and placing future responsibility on the village, with hall rental and policy decisions also approved.
