Obituary of Charles Crookshanks 28 in Rossburn

Charles Crookshanks 28 son of Mrs S Crookshanks died at General Hospital Winnipeg on Tuesday January 27 after a five year illness. Born at Ranchvale he moved to Rossburn in 1944. Funeral at United Church Rossburn Thursday January 29 conducted by Rev Nixon with Rev Mack assisting. Survived by a widowed mother a brother Adam of Winnipeg and three sisters Nurse Evelyn Barbara Major and Margaret of Rossburn. Hector Cameron was called to Winnipeg last Tuesday to transfuse blood for his brother Robert after a delicate operation. The Oakburn rink skip Cliff McLeod with teammates Jack MaCanchuk Frank Clearwater and Jack Smith played a one day bonspiel in Rossburn last Thursday. They won their first game then fell to Wilson of Russell in a tight second game. Rossburn curlers praised the Oakburn team's hospitality.
