Rossburn Rural Council aims for road grants and wage h ike
The Rossburn Rural Council met December 13 1960 with Acting Reeve William Hyra. Council approved a 1960 61 snowplow grant request 50 50 with a $1000 cap and sought government equipment when municipal plows cannot suffice. Successful Bingo Draws At 4H Sewing Event
The 4H Sewing and Cali Cities held a Friday Bingo with net proceeds of 58.75 dollars. Winners included Mrs. N Chopp for Oranges and Louise Carson for Locks Nylons, with many other prize categories won by local residents such as Mr. Jim Andrew, Mrs. Claire Palmer, and Mrs. Marion Crookshanks.

On Wednesday votes favored Lynn McKay for a two year term as chief 46 to 28 over Geo Cloud. A liquor referendum failed 41 to 33. Turnout was 75 ballots with 68 abstentions and 39 non residents did not vote.

Rossburn Credit Union Board Meeting Highlights
The December meeting of the Rossburn Credit Union Society approved Temporary Disability Insurance coverage for members with monthly or at least quarterly repayments. Four new members joined. A Chapter meeting for policy owners of Credit Unions met Monday at the Rossburn Town Hall basement. Attendees included Rossburn Credit Union Board and members with Oakburn Credit Union representation. Larry Purdy of Cuna Mutual Insurance Society and Marcel Caron of Winnipeg spoke, a Cuna Mutual manual was distributed, a discussion followed, a Credit Union film was shown, and lunch was served at the Double M Cafe.
