Edith Bryant and William Cameron Bride in Virden

Edith Eleanor Bryant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Bryant of Miniota married William John Andrew Cameron son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cameron of Rossburn on Saturday December 17 at St. Marys Anglican church Virden. Rev W L Gedge officiated. Attendants included Donna Bryant. Guests from Rossburn included Mr. John Cameron Miss Shirley Cameron Miss Rose Cameron and Mr. Larry Cameron. The couple will reside in Dauphin after a wedding trip to the United States.

James Coey Appointed Agent for Unemployment Insurance

Appointment For Wilson Yanick

Wilson Yanick has been elected to the office of assistant cashier at Manufacturers National Bank of Detroit. The announcement is by Arthur J. Fush. Yanick is a World War II veteran, Michigan Bankers Association School of Banking graduate, and has worked in multiple bank divisions since 1950. He and Mrs. Yanick live in Detroit. his parents reside in Oakburn.

Donations to Local Hospital Acknowledged for December

A December donations list thanks contributors to the local hospital. Items include instruments, household goods, clothing like housecoats, decorations such as Christmas trees, and assorted groceries. Dr Wright Opens Medical Practice Here

Dr Arthur Wright or J M Wright arrived Monday to take over the local medical practice after relocating from Wolseley Saskatchewan. Born in Ireland, educated in Dublin, he served with the RAF 1942 to 1945 with postings in eastern Canada. He has spent five years in Canada and 18 months at Kansas University Medical Centre doing anesthetic work. Community welcomes him.

The Ukrainian Catholic Women's League met December 11 1960 in the Parish Hall. Intermediates Split Hockey Battles Highlight Penalties

The Intermediates played two North Central League games since the last issue. Elphinstone game ended 3-3 after a late rally by Rossburn. In Rossburn, Kenton tied 6-6 with Rossburn after a back-and-forth match. Kowal and Pritchard led scoring with two goals apiece for Rossburn, Kowal adding two assists. Ron joins Oakburn players Yanick and Groshek trying out with the local team.
