Drama Club Members Attend Birtle Plays Trip
On December 9 Rossburn Collegiate Drama Club members journeyed to Birtle to watch four one act plays by the Birtle Collegiate Drama Club The Leader of the People The Necklace Summer People and the Forgotten Man The outing offered tips for their own drama night and the club thanks the Pelly Trail School Division for transport support.

In a North Central Hockey League game Monday, Rossburn Hornets erased a 5-2 first period deficit to beat McAuley 8-7. Lynn Beaton and Ron Yanyk led with three goals, Beaton scoring the winner at 18:52 of the final period as Rossburn outscored McAuley 3-2 in the third.

Village of Rossburn Council Holds Dec 14 1971 Meeting
The Rossburn village council met December 14 1971 at 7 30 p m in the Council Chambers for a regular and year end meeting presided by Mayor Louis Kurchaba with Councillors Sedor Drosdoski Baubie Sion and Harold Sion in attendance. The minutes of the November 18 1971 and December 8 1971 meetings were adopted. Financial reports for the month ending November 30 1971 were received and adopted. The annual report by Fire Chief Mike Antonin was received and bills approved. By law 446A approving sewer and water connections under Provincial Road 254 was read and passed. Surplus from Lot 17 Plan 555 was transferred to the General Reserve Fund. Manitoba Telephone System Plan No 71239 noting buried cable location was received for the village record. By-law 452 cancelling certain taxes for 1971 was read and passed. Nick Gensorek was hired as skating rink caretaker at 225.00 per month. Skating fees were continued.
