Damp Grain Drying Urgency Highlighted by McNamara
W C McNamara chairing the Grain Transportation Committee warns western Canadian farmers of a severe damp grain surplus. Terminal drying can handle only part of 350 million bushels. most must be dried on farms. A six bushel quota is seen as the best possible outcome for this crop year. Manitoba Pool Elevators maintain ample damp grain and boxcars to keep dryers running through January, with little prospect of further shipments.
