Rossburn Rural Council Meets for 1964-65 Budget and Highway Plan
The Rossburn Rural Municipality council met December 8 1964 with Reeve Cleland and five councillors. They approved previous minutes and the November financials, adopted assessments, discussed a 20000 loan from TD Bank, passed tax cancellation bylaw, and authorized expense allowances for members. They urged provincial highway additions linking Olha and Marco and planned bills for payment. A January 5 1965 meeting was scheduled.

The Rossburn Women’s Institute met in the annex on Tuesday December 1 at 3:00 pm. The Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Rossburn held its December 1 annual meeting in the Parish Hall. The December meeting of the Rossburn United Church Women took place in the annex on Tuesday December 5 with Mrs Lorna Veitch presiding. Devotional by Mrs Cormack and Miss Hay included Luke 2 scripture and a Christmas story. Hymn 50 was led by Mrs Aylwin. Mrs Lindsay gave the financial report. The group decided to give Christmas parcels to former member Mrs W Strong and to Mr Wight in Virden Home. A social hour followed with 5 visitors and 20 members. lunch was served by hostesses E Alexander Lindsay Hutton and Armstrong.

Grey Cup Pool Supports Minor Hockey Fundraiser
The Rossburn Lions Club sponsors a Grey Cup pool that raised 44.25 for Minor Hockey. Winners were Wally Miller, D. C. Stewart Jr, and Harry Verbowski, who donated 10 of his winnings to Minor Hockey.

Boxing Day Hockey Tournament Set For Higher Prizes
Rossburn Lions Club gears up for the Boxing Day hockey tournament with the highest prize money yet in Manitoba. Preliminary planning occurred at a Lions Board meeting. Prize totals include 200 100 50 and 25 25 dollars as two teams McAuley and Decker have entered and two more strong teams are nearing acceptance.

School Examinations Complete and Report Day Set
Examination results have been returned and report cards will be distributed Monday December 14. Teachers will hold two evening sessions next week for grade level parents. The school hosts 16 curling rinks and weekly games on Monday Wednesday and Friday after four. Choir practice under Miss Tellier continues toward Christmas and Drama Night.

Ladies Night Event Moves to Friday Dec 18 at Rossburn Hall

United Church Women Meet in Vista Lodge
The Vista United Church Women held a December meeting at Mrs. W. J. Hamilton’s home with eight members attending. Mrs. Clayton led the Christmas devotional and the group decided to donate ten dollars to the Children’s Aid Society Bible Society and Osborne Home at Neepawa.
