4-H Club Leaders Form Association in Shoal Lake Area
Leaders from Foxwarren Birtle Vista Shoal Lake and Strathclair met November 25 to form a 4-H leaders association in the Agricultural Representative area. Percy Chegwin of Vista was elected President with Mrs J Fulton Birtle Vice President and Mrs Jim Hodgson Foxwarren as Secretary. Three directors were chosen and Harvey Goehring outlined the by laws and duties include coordinating the 4-H program and training leaders. Ed Somers 4 H Specialist spoke on meeting young people needs and Louise Batho talked on demonstrations.

Rossburn W I members and husbands enjoyed a turkey supper on Tuesday evening. Mrs E Langridge gave a toast to the Queen, while Mrs A Lindsay praised the husbands with a reply from Mr J G Stitt. Laird Duncanson offered a toast to the Ladies. Guests Jimstrong and Bill Mitchell honored for service. Gift of homemade candy for Deer Lodge Hospital veterans. Next meeting January 5 at 3:00 p.m. in United Church annex with aluminum tooling demo by Mrs E Stewart.

Oakburn Rinks Annual Meeting Report and Board Results
The Oakburn Memorial Rinks held its annual meeting on Wednesday in the rink waiting room. Vic tor Michaluk presented a profitable season and the retiring directors were re elected with Steve Woytovich Wesley Samets and Jim Foxton replacing Orest Matiowsky Martin Chalaturnyk and Vernon Tully. Curling and skating fees stay the same and flooding of the ice was approved. Tenders will be invited for a caretaker to supervise the rinks after ice setup. The Oakburn Curling Club opens the season with the two Event Bonspiel pending ice readiness. Entry fee is one dollar per person credited toward season curling fees to Mrs John W Smith.
