Yorkton Saskatchewan officials report completion of tower and anchor foundations and a cement slab for the transmitter building for the Baldy Mountain TV station. frost and weather forced early action to finish foundations, enabling an earlier on air date. the station will broadcast on channel 8.
A very successful Bingo was held in the Ukr National Home on Friday Dec 4 by the Ukr Womens Association. Mrs. H J Bowley age 79 3 months long-time Roblin resident died November 22 1959 after a short illness in Roblin hospital Born 1880 Blythe Ontario moved with family to Whitewood Saskatchewan in 1883 Married 1905 to Herbert Bowley They lived in Foxwarren and Binsearth before moving to Roblin In 1912 they started Roblin Review later edited Rossburn Review then returned to Roblin in 1947 after Mr Bowley’s death in 1950 Survived by two sons David Melvin daughter Hazel Ford six grandchildren and three great grandchildren Funeral service held November 25 1959 conducted by Rev G Waddell with honorary pallbearers and active pallbearers listed Interment Roblin District cemetery Sneath Funeral Service arranged the funeral
Last week proved taxing for students as exams tested skill and knowledge. Names of many students appear in the results and curling rinks were organized by Tom Carson and Keith Elvers with a long list of participants and spares named.

The Rural Municipality of Rossburn held its December council meeting with Reeve Ed Shust presiding for the last time after six years in office. Mike Sotas will assume the reeve role in the new year as council approved tax actions and road rentals, plus aid to Mears Hall and other local matters.

The United Church W A summarizes a busy year with 11 meetings and an average attendance of 16. They funded church and manse maintenance, installed flooring and two tables, donated 5500 to caravan work and various committees, hosted events and meals, and held bazaars and receptions. Officers for 1960 include President J G Stitt and Secretary J Sulth.
Rossburn Ag Society shows a strong year with receipts of 3147.38 plus 16.67 from 1958 and expenses of 2210.62 leaving 953.43 in the bank. The society acknowledges a 810 donation from the Rossburn WI and meals donated by the Rossburn W A to judges and band members, plus other gifts. Laminated rafters have been ordered from the Russell cabinet shop to erect a new exhibition hall.
