Fire destroys Rossburn workshop owned by Orest Salyn
Last Thursday night a workshop owned by Orest Salyn of Rossburn burned to the ground about three miles east of Rossman Lake. Fire Chief Lorne Johnston said the roof had caved in on arrival and only nearby granaries were protected. All tools and welding equipment were lost and the damage estimate was not provided. The cause remains undetermined.

Preliminary survey work by Highways Department crews in Rossburn targets Main Street drainage problems north end near Lions Manor. Village secretary treasurer Leonard Mackedenski says resurfacing is needed and has been sought since 1973. If funding arrives soon, design steps could follow in three to four years.

Pelly Trail Board Endorses Program and Pool Purchase

S T E P program nets three fines in Manitoba
RCMP Rossburn detachment joined forces with other Manitoba detachments in the S T E P enforcement two week period from November 13 to 26. Three seat belt violations yielded 27 dollar fines. Drivers with under age 18 passengers or improperly restrained children face 66 dollar penalties. The program aims to raise seat belt use province wide to 80 percent and support Manitoba University research.
