Ukrainian Peoples Home reviews year with cultural events
The annual meeting on November 8 1987 heard reports from the secretary treasurer bingo and social committees. The Ukrainian Cultural Centre groups performed in Canora Sask Gimli Oakburn Sandy Lake and Rossburn and participated in Malanka Night Olha's Pioneer Association concert and visits to a personal care home. Rossburn tsymbaly students were invited to perform at the Dauphin Ukrainian National Festival for the second year and gave workshops. Officers for 1987-88 are President Harry Twerdun Secretary Mike Antonin Treasurer Louis Kurchaba Social Co-ordinator Diane Twerdun. The meeting closed with When There's Peace In The Family and lunch. door prize went to Mike Piasta.

Olyarnyk Takes Third in Bob Bass Memorial Award
Colette Olyarnyk of the Rossburn 4-H Beef Club shared third place with Daniel Zegarak of Brandon when Kathy Henderson of Boissevain won the Bob Bass Memorial Award on November 18 in Brandon. Shannon Scott of Eden placed second. The award honors leadership and community involvement among youths aged 14 to 18 and is named for Brandon Optimist Club founder Bob Bass. Bobby Olyarnyk received a youth appreciation citation for his finalist selection.
