Darlene Shewchuk daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Shewchuk of Ozerna Manitoba exchanged marriage vows with her fiancé on July 17 1965 at 230 pm at Sacred Heart Church Erick. The service described as a lovely double ring ceremony was reported in the local notes.
A long list of prize winners from the Rossburn Fair crowns top blooms and baked goods. Names such as Mrs. Sam Brown, Mrs. Wm. Stitt, Elaine Maryniuk, and Steffie Maduke appear across categories for Best Geranium, Begonias, ferns, flowers, cakes, and pastries.
At the Baked Goods and Soup contest in Birtle, Murray Hryciak led the baking class with Steffie Maduke taking second and Mrs Stan Fiel third. In the homemade soup division, Mrs L Hrysak placed first, Mrs L Brydon second, and Mrs Sam finished third.
