Vista 4-H Seed Swine Food and Clothing clubs toured Brandon Experimental Farm aboard cars supplied by local men. The group met the farm staff, toured the creamery cold storage loker plant, observed cereal plots, heard talks on 2 4 D effects and grasses and legumes, and visited the poultry house apiary and barns. The day ended with ice cream and a sense of a well spent visit.

Rural Council Seeks Daily Bus Route to Rossburn
The Rural Municipality of Rossburn council met August 1 with full attendance. It approved a request to Manitoba Motor Transit Ltd to run a Brandon to Rossburn daily bus via Shoal Lake and Rossburn, instead of to Oakburn. The meeting also authorized culverts and asked Rossburn village to install a ditch crossing on municipal property. Bills were approved and the council adjourned to September 5 at 1 p.m.

Archie Shingoose of Waywayseecappo Reserve died when his 1946 Fargo truck overturned about three miles east of Rossburn on Sunday morning August 2. Ten people were aboard the vehicle, damage estimated at $3800, with no serious injuries among passengers.

The Village of Rossburn council met July 28 with full attendance and acting Mayor Antonichuk presiding. Minutes were confirmed and a Rural Municipality truck parking resolution was filed for future consideration. One building permit approved and two livestock by law permits granted. Constable’s report adopted and a truck parking petition filed for later review. A weekly Brandon to Rossburn bus service via Shoal Lake noted. Meeting set for August 18 at 8 pm.
