Rossburn Village Council Adopts Reports and By-Laws

The Rossburn council met in regular and two special sessions on June 27 and July 4. They adopted financial and constable reports, arranged title work for village parcels, hired Sam Oryniak as weed inspector, boarded up the Pool Room, and approved hydro extension to the sewage lift site. They prepared By-Laws on plumbing drainage and liquor sale, authorized a 2000 payment to Wardrop Associates, and scheduled the next meeting for August 20, 1963.

Cream Competition Winners at Rossburn Agricultural Fair

Winners of the Cream Competition sponsored by Manitoba Dairy and Poultry Co op Ltd and the Rossburn Agricultural Society Annual Fair are announced. First prize goes to Mrs S Bereza of Solsgirth with 97.8 points, followed by H Armstrong of Vista 97.6, E Collingridge of Rossburn 96.7, W A Halliday of Vista 96.0, and Sam Brown of Vista 95.5.

Mr and Mrs Norman Clubley and family spent the weekend at Oakville for a Strong family reunion. Wedding guests gather for Maxwell Howard nuptials in Winnipeg

Obituary: Wasyl Kowal of Oakburn

Wasyl Kowal, 83, of Oakburn, died Monday July 22 at Shoal Lake hospital. Born in Western Ukraine he emigrated to Canada in 1903 and farmed near Oakburn until 1944 then moved to Oakburn village. Funeral at Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church with Rev. Romanyshyn. Left to mourn: wife Rose and daughters Anne, Lena, Rose. Raginski Funeral Home in care.

Ryszytylo won the M title with Veitch and Verna Hrycak placing. Stupinsky beat Hrycak in a tablecloth match as Jim Andrew provided the PA system and M Lawless supplied the Bingo machine. Total cash realized was 59.50 dollars.

Sudden Death of Allan Cameron

Allan Cameron aged 71 died suddenly on Wednesday July 31. The funeral is set for Saturday August 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rossburn Pentecostal Church.
