Trapping Season Extended in Manitoba

Mr and Mrs Harvey Hamilton took Dean to Winnipeg for medical treatment on Monday and returned the same night after calling on Mrs O Donell at Portage. Mrs T O Miller of Gimli visits town. Mrs Leckie and daughters from Winnipeg spend a week with Mr and Mrs W Stitt. Arthur Chesney home from hospital. Ernie Chesney and daughter of Brandon spent the weekend with the Chesneys. School opened on Tuesday.

About fifty residents attended a Mohyla District Consumers Co op event featuring films and a main address by Jim Bowman Winnipeg feed nutritionist. The talk on feeding livestock and poultry was well received, with Fred Hodgkinson discussing Consumers Credit Union Co operatives and John Cormack presiding as chairman. Lunch followed the conclusion of the program.

At Mears Hall on April 20 Rossburn Consumers Co op sponsored a meeting with Jim Bowman, feed nutritionist, presenting Farm Feeding Problems. Films included Co op Flour Mill at Saskatoon and Champions in the Making with Barbara Ann Scott. Fred Hodgkinson noted patronage dividends, one member receiving 1755.51 with cash over 800 in 1953. Reeve Ed Shust chaired. ladies of the Mears district served lunch.
