Minor baseball reorganization forms three Manitoba leagues
Representatives from seven towns met in Rossburn on Friday April Sth to reorganize minor baseball in the North-West Region. They approved three leagues Little League Pony and Midget with two sections each and schedules to start in May. North and South sections list teams including Rossburn Shoal Lake Birtle Foxwarren Russell Inglis Binscarth and Birtle Indian School. Meetings April 27 will draw up schedules in Birtle and Russell.

Military Guard Honors Liggett Karman Wedding
Officers of the three Canadian Armed Services and the United States Air Force formed an arch of swords at Robert son Memorial United Church after the wedding of Lavinia Elizabeth Karman and Fr Lieut Charles Robert Liggett. The ceremony occurred at 2 30 p m on April 10 with Rev Elias Eustace officiating. The bride, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Steven Karman of St James Manitoba, wore a white pannaiche faille gown with a redingote of imported French lace and carried white lilacs. The groom is the son of Mrs M O Liggett of Zealandia Saskatchewan and the late J S Liggett. After a reception the couple departed for a wedding trip to the United States and will reside in Glendale California.

Obituary for Charles Zink at Angusville Greek Catholic Church
Funeral service held Thursday April 8 in Angusville Greek Catholic Church for Charles Wasyl Zink who died suddenly April 5. Born October 2 1889 in Austria, he came to Canada in 1906 and worked with CN Railway Construction. Survived by wife Frances Rose Kalyniuk, one son Metro, six daughters, one brother, five grandchildren. Pallbearers named. interment in Greek Catholic cemetery.

Bacon Carcass Show at Shoal Lake Grand Champion Named
The Bacon Carcass Show at Ukrainian Hall Shoal Lake drew a large crowd on Saturday April 10 at 2 PM. Sponsored by the Shoal Lake Agricultural Society it was the first event of its kind in the area with 23 farmers and 24 entries. William Shwaluk Oakburn won Grand Champion with one entry and Reserve Grand Champion with the other, receiving $6 and $4 respectively, presented by Society president Jim Martin. Dominion Agriculture officials Harold Scotchmer and Frank Graves led the event and Graves gave a talk on selecting breeding stock.

Moving Pictures at Waywayseecappo
A picture show was held at Waywayseecappo Reserve on Thursday night April 16. It was the first since the hydro was installed with five films shown. Mr Maron Slow of Rossburn supplied and operated the projector. An educational Tuberculosis film was well received. About 15 dollars was realized to buy baseball equipment for Waywaysee cappo school children. Appreciation was extended to Mr Slow for his generosity and time. More shows are hoped for soon to attract more local attendees.
