Government tightens Pharmacare receipts to curb duplicate claims
Health Minister Donald W. Orchard announced amendments under the Prescription Drugs Cost Assistance Act to require Pharmacare receipts reflect only the customer’s payment. Pharmacies must show no payment when the insurer covers full cost and apply similar rules to discounts for staff, seniors, or private insurers. The changes target private coverage seeks to recover costs via exact claims, with broad support from the Manitoba Pharmaceutical Association.
