Clancy Forrest Walker died March 28 in Grenfell Sask at 56 after a heart attack while at work. Funeral held March 31 at Grenfell United Church with Legion and Evening Star Lodge rites. Survived by Vera, three sons James Earnest, William, Jack. daughters May and Dorothy, two grandchildren, and brothers Chester Earl Glen. Born Clarence Missouri 1896. lived in Quill Lake Angusville and Grenfell. grain buyer for National Grain Co. WWI veteran. member of Canadian Legion Elks Royal Orange Lodge Evening Star Lodge.

Poor Attendance At Booster Nite in Rossburn Town Hall
Very low turnout at the Baseball Booster Nite on Tuesday night with four or five adults and mostly boys present. The meeting showed the film Play Ball Son and supported creating a Pony League alongside Little League and Bantam teams to bridge age gaps. The Pony League would serve players too old for Little League but too young for Bantam, named from the slogan Preserve Our National Youth.

Village Tax Levy Remains Unchanged At 70 Mills
The Rossburn village council met April 21 with full attendance. They adopted the financial report, appointed Wasy Danyleyko as Village Constable and ordered a police uniform. A cleanup committee was named and a plan announced, while a by law updated truck parking rules on Mountain Avenue took effect May 1 1953. Licenses for jukeboxes musical machines were set at 25 dollars per year for non taxpaying businesses. Tax rates for 1953 were fixed with an overall 70 mill levy. Bills were approved and the next meeting set for May 19.

A Friday April 17 party at Boyle School house honored Isobel Mushumanski, bride elect for April 30. Seaburn and Boyle residents filled the hall as she sat in a decorated chair and received gifts, with two children presenting a wagon with a miniature house. George Clarke Honored By Friends Farewell Party

Tom Thumbs Crest Parade After Foxwarren Playoff
Members of the Rossburn Tom Thumbs received crests after the Minneapolis-Moline show at the Rossburn Theatre last Friday. Rossburn-Oakburn won the district championship at Foxwarren. The Tom Thumbs, aged 12 and under, are sponsored by the Manitoba Amateur Hockey Association. Active Rossburn players included Harold Sion Robbie Stitt Tomy Carson and Grenville Brown. Oakburn players named were Ronnie Yanick Or est Lasuita Ray Waytowich Nelson Hrycak Kenny Malanchuk Eugene Lazaruk and Peter Katchuk. Crests were also presented to Jerry Yarmey Eddie Butler Robin Huston Tomy Heneghan Robert Ukrainetz and Calvin McFarlane who did not participate in the Foxwarren playoff. The Oakburn boys were also presented with crests.
