First Auction Sale In Rossburn 1893 Marks Town History
Rossburn Municipality held its first auction sale on April 14 1893. Auctioneer Frank Wilcox of Birtle led the sale on the R R Ross farm site two buildings then in the budding town. The report notes store, post office, church relocation, and that seeding started May 12 1893 with a good crop that avoided typical frost damage of the era.

Benger Named CPR Chief of Motive Power and Rolling Stock
Montreal native F A Benger has been appointed chief of motive power and rolling stock for the Canadian Pacific Railway, announced by vice president N R Crump. A Queen's University graduate, he has led CPR diesel and steam locomotive work and supervised standards and methods since 1948, after joining CPR in 1911 and contributing to streamlining of famed Royal Hudson and Selkirk locomotives.
