Shirley Cormack is wished a speedy recovery by friends. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs John Clayton on the birth of a daughter. The Pentecostal W MS Circle met at Mrs C Palmer's home on April 8. The Wakefield family moved into Mr Wm Semiuk's house. Wm Taylor recently married in Winnipeg. Mrs Baptieste of Grandview is employed at the McIntosh home. Elmer Brown retired from Ontario where he worked in a mine. Dr McLennan of Russell is wished a speedy recovery. Rev and Mrs Mack accepted a call to Fort Francis and will have a farewell service April 25. Junior Ladies Aid to hold a social April 27 in Rossburn Club Room. Bernice Carson spent the weekend at home. T Klym and family moved into the Wakefield house. Mrs Robert Peden is traveling to Rochester MN for an operation and wishes speedy recovery. Welcome to Mike Smysnuk and families who have taken over the hotel. Elly and Alexander spent the weekend at home. Rob Stitt visiting Brandon. Wakefields and Myniuks moved. Mrs M G Crookshanks underwent an operation Saturday and is wished a speedy recovery. Maxwell family travel to Winnipeg for Robb's wedding on April 10. Congratulations to Donald Sinclair on his 93rd birthday. Sinclair came from Caithness to Rossburn in 1880 and remains a pioneer resident. Manitoba is best place to live.
In an April 15 meeting the Rossburn Baseball Club elected Earl Moffat as President with Lee Treas. Oliver Hodge as Treasurer and Harry Drosdoski as Vice President. Jos. Griffith and Major represent seniors and juniors on the executive. A general meeting is planned as warmer weather arrives for baseball activity.
Miss Leona Werbowski and a companion visited Igith while Mike Wojack and Leon Admek toured Winnipeg during Easter holidays. Mrs J Wladyka of Sandy Lake stayed with her parents Mr and Mrs S Korolyk. The Ruthenia Post Office moved duties from Nick Derchak residence to Walter Pushka on April 1. Danny Bereza of Solsgirth visited his grandparents Mr and Mrs Nick Vernski. Visitors to Winnipeg last week included Mrs Wm Biliwaka Mrs Nick Melnyk and Mr T Obedniak. Mike Brykalnik left for Grandview to visit his sister and brother in law Pete Kuzyk.
John Skomorowski was injured while lifting a young colt when it fell back and pinned him under straw. Neighbors quickly dug him out and he escaped serious harm.
A butcher offers steak at a dollar thirty five per pound to Mrs Jones. She replies by asking for enough for two for supper and to have the boy push it through the keyhole if she is not home.
Mr and Mrs H J Bowley bid farewell to Rossburn after publishing the Rossburn Review since 1941. A club room gathering April 12 featured contests, singing, and a purse gift presented by Harris Huston with remarks by Mayor J G Stitt and N Toland. A card of thanks expresses gratitude for the reception and donations toward the purse and well wishes for future health and happiness.
