Fourteen men competed in the Rossburn Beard Growing Contest from January 15 to April 1. The April 6 finale included a Perogy Party and music, sponsored by the Ukrainian Centennial Committee. Rossburn Village Council discusses 1984 budget and projects
The Rossburn village council met March 22 with Mayor Louis Kurchaba presiding. Items included a 1984 fire department budget of 18 335 and a 10 000 reserve fund allocation for communications equipment. A Parkland Regional Development brief, sale of Lot 1 Plan 6447 to Manitoba Housing for 2 000, and an appeal to the Municipal Assessment Branch for the 1984 foundation levy were discussed. Street lighting on Main Street and Sprucewood Avenue was deferred to align with the 1985 Main Street Manitoba Program. The RDHC will be advised to sell Lot 28 Plan 6447.
