Memorial Service Held For Cpl George Strank In Wessburn

A memorial service was held Monday afternoon at the United Church Wessburn for Cpl George Strank killed in action in Germany in February. Rev. B F Parsons officiated. The Strank family attended with several in uniform. The local Canadian Legion branch laid flowers on the monument after the service. The poem They Shall Not Grow Old was recited as part of the tribute.

The Soldiers Aid held its regular meeting on Monday April 2 in the club room. A quilting session is set for Friday April 27 in the same room. The group decided to send parcels to all 42 Boys Overseas this month. Letters of appreciation came from Stanley Budz Steve Cherwonie and Hugh McKay.
