Marco Hall Story of Ukrainian National Home Built in Marco
In the Marco district by the early 1920s residents sought a community hall. Jacob Hladey led fundraising for Marco Hall with Basil Lazaruk and George Lazaruk among initial officers. The building opened October 16, 1932 after 36 volunteers aided, with a banquet, speeches, and a concert. Over the years plays, dances, and socials filled the hall until a grass fire felled it on May 7, 1972 leaving the site empty yet memories.
