Rossburn to Celebrate Waterworks Opening with Lions Sports Day
The village of Rossburn marks 50 years with the official opening of its Waterworks and Sewage installation on Saturday June 13 during the Lions Club Sports Day. Mayor Peter Wladyka spurred plans for observances with a Sports Day Committee chaired by Norm Major and a Civic Improvement Committee chaired by Harris Huston. The Shoal Lake Roman Catholic and Legion ladies organized an April 2 envelope stuffing at Mrs. Lionel Shust’s home for the Flowers of Hope campaign. Over 5000 envelopes completed. Seeds planted will bloom as a symbol of hope for retarded children and the Cosmos flower.

Obituary of Nick Bidochka of Oakburn at 78
Nick Bidochka of Oakburn died at his residence on March 30 at age 78. Born in 1885 in Austria, he immigrated to Canada in 1906, married Kathleen Kozak, and farmed near Rossburn before moving to Oakburn last September. Survived by wife, six children, 22 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, with services at Ukr Greek Orthodox Church Oakburn officiated by Rev Olesiak. Pallbearers listed and Raginski Funeral Home handled arrangements.
