Manitoba tabled details of a 1964 65 highway program with a 36 7 million dollar provincial investment. Projects include No 45 Sandy Lake Elphinstone 7 0 miles 2nd lift gravel calcium and No 21 Oakburn to Shoal Lake 84 miles grade gravel structures plus No 24 6 1 miles gravel near Arrow River and 1 3 miles Elphinstone access road 2nd lift calcium chloride.

Pumping Station Nears Completion At Rossburn

The Rossburn Waters Supply Board building is complete to the point where pumping equipment is being installed after winter construction by Gothard Peterson Construction Co. Removal of the old livery barn and planned landscaping will reveal a new south end view, with the Lions Club Playground and Park finishing the transformation.

The Ukrainian Catholic Women's League invites a Spring Tea at Oakburn Parish Hall on April 16 1964 with home baking and sewing sale.

The Rossburn Tom Thumbs defeated Strathclair 6-2 Monday evening at Strathclair. Scorers for Rossburn included Henry Bidochka Dwight Aylwin Brant Boles Brian Rodek and Bobby Chuchmuch with two. Other Rossburn players listed were Brant Boles Dwight Aylwin Ryan Shust and Clarence Keewat ineappo.

Former Residents To Celebrate Golden Wedding

Mr and Mrs John McLeod of Ste 3 120 Young St Winn ipeg will celebrate their Golden Wedding April 7 with home visits to friends from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p m Born in Scotland Mr McLeod came to Rossburn in 1910 Mrs McLeod followed in 1914 they lived in Rossburn until 1941 They have a son Jack in Winnipeg three grandchildren and a great grandson A family dinner is planned for April 4 to mark the occasion.

Mrs Irene Spilchak Dies in Winnipeg at 43

Mrs Irene Spilchak aged 43 of 902 Dudley Ave Winnipeg died accidentally in Winnipeg on March 15. She was the wife of Anthony and mother of two daughters Vivian Davies and Julie. She served in the Holy Family Parish Women’s League and was its president for ten years. Funeral arrangements were handled by Zawidoski Funeral Chapel with pallbearers named.

Rossburn 4-H Clubs Attend Winter Fair

The Rossburn 4-H Sewing and Calf Clubs attended the Brandon Winter Fair on Monday. Chaperones for the girls were Mrs. M Kostesky and Mrs. M Tanasychuk. Secretary Gloria Kostesky assisted with arrangements. Transportation was provided by Mike Verbowski Eugene Caldwell Walter Lukinski Bill Taylor and Pat Johnston. Sewing leaders at a Brandon meeting on Fabrics and Patterns included Mrs. Harry Verbowski Mrs. Nick Maryniuk Mrs. Mike Kostesky Mrs. Harvey McKnight and Mrs. Pat Johnston.

Collision Near Clear Lake School

A head on collision on the road west of Onanole near Clear Lake School involved John Mayer of Crawford Park and Morris Kustiak of Leedh. Snow banks and a narrow road prevented avoidance. Both cars were badly damaged and several occupants were treated at Erickson Hospital.

Local golfers met last Wednesday at J. D. Andrew's shop for a lengthy discussion on issues facing the club and plans for the upcoming season. No firm decisions were made, but most members did not favor joining the local Game and Fish Association.

Principals Introduced to Curling at Angusville Event

Education Week item notes the Periy Trail School Division principals were taught curling by the Board in Angusville. Two games ended with the Board trailing by two points overall but winning on total score. Mr. W. A. Burnett and Mr. A. G. Minish guided the session, followed by a supper at the Angusville Hotel. The Board Chairman Mr. A V. Warman offered further instruction at no cost to teachers beyond another supper.
