Agriculture Canada forecasts 1982 farm commodity trends
Economists expect Canadian wheat prices to average lower in 1981 82 due to record world yields and higher year end stocks. Coarse grains likely fall in 1982 with a modest late crop year recovery while oilseed prices hang near current levels. Beef and pork prices may rise in 1982 on reduced supplies with steers around 80 per cwt and hog slaughter down 4 percent. Milk sales rise under 1.5 percent and chicken prices edge up only slightly in early 1982.
