The 4H Sewing Sisters of Rossburn held a business meeting on April 5 1976 at 7 30 pm. The Rossburn 4 H Achievement Night is set for May 3 at 7 30 pm with a raffle for a patch throw. A donation of 25.00 to the H Council was proposed and the meeting adjourned.

The North Central Hockey League announces its final awards with West Division top scorer George Holoway at Fleming with 82 points and top goalie Delbert Cole of Miniota at 3.44 GAA. MVP Gary Bowles of Elkhorn leads the East division with 50 points. top goalies Garnet Bell and Terry Markle of Shoal Lake post 4.11 GAA. MVP David Dougall of Shoal Lake cited for overall excellence.

Birdtail Women’s Institute Holds April Meeting at Mary Saley Home

The Birdtail Women’s Institute met at Mrs. Mary Saley’s home with 7 members and 1 visitor. They read the Creed, reviewed March minutes and treasurer’s report, observed a moment of silence for Mrs. McIntosh, and discussed the Swan River convention on May 12. New member Mrs. Glen Maxwell was welcomed and Tamie Peart won the Jackpot. The next meeting is May 6 at Myrtle Maxwell’s home.

Rossburn Forms Community Ambulance Service

The Rossburn District Hospital Board along with Rossburn village and RM councils establish the Rossburn Community Ambulance in January 1975 with a GM Tristar bought for 11200 and equipment costing about 1000. Twenty volunteers train through five phases, fees set under government guidelines, and the service operates from Rossburn Hospital with a 24 hour contact number 859 2413 for emergencies.

Ken and Bev Charney announce the arrival of their second daughter Angela Marie born April 5 at 7 15 AM at Brandon General Hospital weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces. She joins big sister Patricia Ann. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Tom Charney and Mr. and Mrs. John Yaskeiw.
