Annual Meeting Officers Elected At U C W L Meeting
U C W L held its annual meeting at Anne Luhowy's home on March 15 1977 with 22 members and Father Lehky present. Carol Kachan chaired. reports from secretary Anne Antonin treasurer Anne Luhowy and president Carol Kachan outlined the year's activities. Executive officers elected for 1977 include Carol Kachan president Anne Antonin 1st vice Anne Antonin 2nd vice Alice Hrubeniuk 3rd vice Angela Ryshytyle secretary Phyllis Hrubeniuk treasurer Anne Luhowy. A jackpot donated by Mildred Leschasin was won by Tinnie Trakalo. Prayer and lunch followed. Father Lehky thanked members for their efforts.

Rossburn Collegiate cancels this year's high school bonspiel due to poor ice conditions after attempts to move events to Rossburn Vista and Shoal Lake failed. Prizes donated by local merchants will be returned or kept for next year. Pool Elevators trophies will be retained for next year's bonspiel.

The Birtle Russell Liberal executive met April 4 to set a nomination convention date. The Liberal nominating convention will be held April 19 at the Binscarth Community Centre with Charles Huband present. A pot luck supper at 6:30 p.m. precedes the 8 p.m. nominee election open to the public. Voting is limited to Liberal members. contest appears likely.

RCMP Solve 12 Offences In Rossburn District
The RCMP detachment concludes a two week probe charging three juveniles and three adults from the Rossburn district with theft and break and enter theft. Twelve offences across Rossburn Birtle Selsgirth districts during the past year involve farmers merchants residents and two churches with well over a thousand dollars recovered.
