Parks and libraries lead resident priorities, with schools and transportation following. medical center and bank rank high for commercial needs. The report notes a high interest in work among men, average ages and earnings, and female employment trends. Diamonds were first found in the United States in Arkansas in 1906.

Grand prize winner Marvin Wessel of Chicago received a 1959 Mercury after purchasing the ticket through a coworker. Major winners included a Roll ing Meadows couple with a film projector and Mount Prospect youths with bicycles. Final figures expected in two weeks. Funds support mortgage payments on fire trucks and new equipment. Bert Trager chaired the event with 38 firefighters aiding.
