A report from the Iowa Health Department's Vita Statistics Division shows the home is the second most dangerous place to be, with over 425 Iowa fatalities yearly. Bedrooms are the most unsafe room, with three in ten fatal accidents there, and ages under five or over sixty-five most at risk.
Dr. Harry Bakwin, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, told at State University of Iowa that habits like thumb sucking and delayed speech are not necessarily serious and that some behavior issues stem from parental interpretations. The remarks came during a talk this week.
A university program for Iowa doctors in pediatrics is described as a sponsored postgraduate course. The event involves the Iowa Pediatric Society and the maternal and child health initiative within the Iowa State Department of Health.

School teachers Miss Lucille Bucher and Miss Opal Bagstad from Rolfe visited the J H Bucher residence in Plover on Sunday afternoon.
45 Years Ago KK Damborg of Tyler Minn visiting brother John in Rolfe this week while resuming studies at the Chicago Art Institute. A stock consignment left Rolfe including cattle hogs and sheep. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Church in Pocahontas for Will Shimon 68 a long-time real estate dealer who died Wednesday night September 19 at Mercy Hospital Fort Dodge from a coronary condition.
