Long War Could Raise Farm Prices But Not Quickly
Iowa State College economist Lauren K. Seth says a long war may lift farm prices, but the rise in the next year may be limited. He notes large world supplies of wheat and feed crops, tighter financing for belligerents, and government price controls as factors moderating gains. He compares potential effects to the early years of World War I.
