SURPRISE a pair of dual truck wheels escaped from a semi-trailer and smashed the front fender of J 4 Jennings car near Marengo and bent the axle requiring tow.
Frank Priebe reports on a Colorado ranch with 30,000 young turkeys raised in staged camps. The operator moves flocks every eight days to new ground, feeding 3,000 pounds daily and pumping 5,600 gallons of water to 7,500 hens. Last year 12,000 turkeys, this year 20,000, with plans for 50,000 next year.
The Iowa 4 H Dairy Club Exposition runs September 25 to October 4 at the new 4 H livestock building on the Dairy Cattle Congress grounds. E M Wright says total premiums top 4164 00 with 2000 state aid. Calf classes include Ayrshire Brown Swiss Guernsey Holstein Jersey and Milking Shorthorn with cash prizes of 3 4 or 5. Winners earn trips to national shows in San Francisco Kansas City and more.
