Miss Janis Sues Wilson High School Flutists in All State
Ten years ago a high school junior Miss Janis Sues Wilson was named one of five flutists in the All State orchestra to perform in Des Moines in November. Linda Sandvig, daughter of Mr and Mrs Wm Sandvig, fractured her arm skating at Emmetsburg Tink Tuesday evening. Sen Guy Butler visited Sunday in the home of Sen and Mrs Lawrence Putney at Gladbrook. The omen have begin together in the State Legislature for 10 years.

Ten-acre corn yield contest winner named
Casper Shimon of Rolfe won the 10-acre corn yield contest sponsored by Pocahontas County Farm Bureau during the summer. His DeKalb planted field produced 998.5 pounds from 600 hills. Mor tar and Pestle president Gilbert Weishaar, son of Mrs. Joe Wieshesr of Havelock, was elected at Drake University. Attendees Fr B. Grant and Frank Largon joined the Mallard corn husking contest. Allen Cook returns from CCC camp in Clarion. Virgil Cook enjoys furlough from Leonard Wood.
