Frances Figert directed the production with Doris Young as music director.
A Methodist Ladies Aid Society meeting was held in the church social rooms on Thursday afternoon. The gathering concluded the membership contest with a large turnout and celebrated September and October birthday anniversaries of eight members. A committee served a delicious lunch at the close.
Legionaires American Legion Post 32 met at their hall Thursday evening and elected officers. Commander Vern Waters, Vice-Commander J M Ralle, Finance Officer J L Miller, Chaplain C L Barth, Historian H A Shimon, Adjutant not appointed, Sergeant-at-Arms Will Crawford.
The Havelock Parent-Teacher Association met in the high school auditorium with many in attendance. President Margaret Ralle led the session, minutes by Bernice Opheim were read, entertainment by Mildred Jensvold and Ruby Guddall featured songs, readings, a Halloween pantomime and a one act playlet, followed by a lunch prepared by local volunteers.
Frank Crawford attempted to restart his stalled car at the town edge Sunday night forgetting it was in gear. The vehicle lurched, knocked him down and drove over his ankle. He crawled to the Randolph home, was treated by Dr. Huntey, and taken to Emmetsburg for X rays and reduction.
The Havelock Methodist Church invites the community to make this their church home with services held as scheduled and welcomes all to attend and be made welcome.
Rolfe residents host visitors and attend gatherings as Miss Verona Larsen visits Algona. Clergy, clubs, and families hold dinners, parties, and meetings with neighbors from Rolfe and nearby towns. Events include birthday celebrations, homecomings, and church activities with Appleton era names, college alumni, and local officials in attendance.
Verna Ryen thanks friends and relatives for visits and remembrances while in the Lutheran Hospital at Fort Dodge. She acknowledges support amid a note invoking the idea that real heroes show a 4X receipt.
