Shimon 65 who died at Worrell hospital Rochester Minnesota where he had been a patient since November Father D A Tewell officiated burial was in the Catholic cemetery at Pocahontas He was born July 16 1884 near Pocahontas son of the late Mr and Mrs Mike Shimon He married Christine Sedlasky of Fort Dodge in 1917 and they lived on farms near Forest City Rolfe and Cedar Rapids before settling in Fort Dodge He was active in Farm Bureau work and worked in real estate in Cedar Rapids and Fort Dodge He is survived by his wife a son Vernon F Shimon a daughter Mrs Stella Shimon a brother Joseph Shimon and four sisters Mrs Harry Voducka Mrs Clifford Cain Pocahontas Mrs Ivan Borg Gilmore City and Mrs Emma Borecky Madison South Dakota He was preceded by his parents and two sisters He was a member of Corpus Christi Fort Dodge and St Margaret's Rolfe

G A Dawson aged 79 died Monday at Lutheran hospital after a short illness with flu. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Presbyterian church with Rev W F Schneck officiating. Burial followed in Clinton Garfield cemetery. Survived by three daughters Mrs John Pascal Pocahontas Mrs Peter Robinson Gainesville Texas and Clara Rolfe.

Eight cars of food donated by Iowans to overseas hungry people via CROP were dedicated Wednesday in Des Moines at 4 30 p m. Pheasant Feast For Storm Lake Businessmen
Storm Lake business leaders will host a pheasant feast on December 1 for Buena Vista college football players. Coach Bob Otto announced the gift of a training table fund that funded meals after practice all season. After the pheasant season opened players organized hunts and bagged 43 birds near Storm Lake. The banquet will be at the Elks Club where the players serve the Songsters of the training table fund.
