Mrs. Grover Shriner hosted the Neigh borly Neighbors gathering Friday with Mesdames Helen Bruce Nielsen Harley Peterson Sr David Caryl Mary Hronek Le Harmon and Miss Eva Cor sair Averill Blewett. A luncheon followed. William Frederick infant son of Mr and Mrs F M Hudson was baptized Sunday May 9 at Rolfe Methodist Church with Rev A Keith Hauser officiating. Guests for dinner included Judge and Mrs F M Hudson Pocahontas and Mr and Mrs C M Svoboda Cedar Rapids. A bridal shower for Barbara Otto bride elect of Gary Metcalf is set for Tuesday May 18 at 7 30 p.m. in the recreation room of Laws Electric Light and Power.

Pepper Steppers Dance at Plover School Gym
The Pepper Steppers held a May 3 dance at the Plover school gym with 35 couples. Don Garbeson called the event. May 17 is the next dance and all are welcome. The Rosary Society met May 5 after an evening Mass. Mrs. John Shimon led the meeting and thanked helpers for the smorgasbord. Members reported on a Deanery meeting and a plant sale planned for May 14–15.
