Marion Huseby and mother visited Gilmore City for the weekend at the Stein home. Buena Vista College student Tony Cole spent days at home. Mrs Minnie Hatteberg traveled to Loverock to visit her daughter. The Gerald Coles welcomed a daughter Cynthia Leigh. Mrs Cole and baby returned from the hospital. Mr and Mrs Carl McVey visited cousins in Webb. J L Lanus plans return from Kansas City. Curtis Burgett and Marian Cornwell visited in Webb. Mayor Walter Knight and son Jack traveled to Blue Earth to see Arthur Knight. Darrell Gist is discharged from Cherokee hospital. Claud Barth and wife welcomed a five pound daughter Claudia Louise by Caesarean at Storm Lake hospital. Gerald Cole welcomed a daughter at Lutheran hospital Fort Dodge. first grandchild for George Cole and Gordon Leigh families. Mrs Larry DeVaul hosted a going away party for Mrs Dale Stover moving to Pocahontas, with neighbors attending. Ray Grover visited Emmetsburg. Gerald Barth and Marion Huseby, Town State College students, returned to Ames after weekend home. Sunshine club met at Mallard home of Mrs Lester Hersom with 18 members and four guests. meeting followed by social time.

Plover Iowa Town Council Meeting May 2 1955

The Plover town council met at 8 p.m. with Mayor Jean Pringle and six councilmen present. Minutes approved. Bills paid to 897.95 with detailed charges for power, water tests, librarian, duties, and taxes. Water meters ordered for all residences. Resignations of E C VanAlstine and O C Higgins accepted. Meeting adjourned.

Fish Books Gone From Iowa Angler Market

Supplies of the handbook Iowa Fish and Fishing, first issued in 1251 by the State Conservation Commission, have sold 20,000 copies. The 240 page volume with 24 color plates by Maynard Reece is used in four colleges and widely prized by anglers and fisheries workers. A new edition is promised by next spring.
