Death of Russell Perry at University Hospital Iowa City

Russell Perry died Friday March 2 at University Hospital Iowa City after an illness diagnosed as rheumatic fever. Specialists said the illness stemmed from an injury when he was thrown from a horse two years earlier. He was a sophomore at Havelock High School and is survived by his parents Mr and Mrs C M Perry several brothers and sisters and many relatives. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Laurens Monday officiated by Rev C L Day of Havelock with Rev Chas Seward assisting. Interment followed in Laurens Cemetery. The family receives heartfelt sympathy.

After a dinner a short program featured a play by club members. Each person brought two white elephants and these items were auctioned off. The Kitchen Symphony provided musical interludes during the social hour closing the evening.
