Market Poultry Should Be Sold Evenly To Maintain Good Market
Prospects of continued good demand for poultry meat in Iowa point to solid returns from farm flocks over the next six months with a caveat. If farmers market chickens evenly and at appropriate weights early hatched cockerels should be sold at 84 to 95 pounds and Leghorns at 2 to 2 pounds, while culling non layers eases feeding and disease risks.
