The American Legion Auxiliary gathered at Mrs. Pirl Riches home with 30 members. Officers were installed including Mrs. Robert Naeve as president and Mrs. Earl Chambers as secretary, with Mrs. Halverson performing a piano solo. Delegates were named for the Des Moines conference August 6 7 and 8.

Norton Ives arrived from Costa Rica to join his parents in Rolfe on Independence Day. He and wife Mrs Ives and daughter Sally flew from San Jose to Chicago then trained to Hurley Wisconsin for a visit.
