County extension director E I Rosenberger urges farmers to clean bins before new grain. Iowa State College ontologist Harold Gunderson leads recommendations: avoid layering new grain atop old, thoroughly clean and sweep, spray empty bins with 5 percent DDT emulsion, repair walls and windows to keep pests out, and combine dry cleaned grain to prevent heating.

State reports slight drop in hunting and fishing licenses
The State Conservation Commission announced 1951-1952 license receipts totaling 1,020,893.90, down from 1,060,443.25 in 1950-1951.
