Ives Celebrate 40th Wedding Anniversary in East Thursday
At 11 o'clock Thursday morning Mr and Mrs L W Ives were surprised by about 75 relatives and friends who gathered to help celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. The event followed a recent American Legion meeting that renamed Rolfe Post No 25 to Cecil Cumming Post in honor of Rolfe's only son who died in France near Chateau Thierry with the Rainbow Division. Cecil, a popular local leader in athletics, died in battle, and the change aims to preserve his memory and boost community sentiment.
