Susan Johnson was elected Assistant Cashier at the Rolfe State Bank during the January board meeting. She began banking in 1962 and is praised for dedication, grasp of modern procedures, and personal customer attention, reflecting banks promoting qualified women to officer roles.

Bob Liston announces remaining openings for this year’s Adult Education Classes. Bridge with Deane Gunderson begins January 22 in the School Library with 10 Wednesday evenings 7 to 9. Darlene Hudek leads dance January 20 in the School Cafe for 10 weeks 7 to 9 beginner and 8 to 10 advanced. Guitar lessons with Bill Kolbe Wednesdays 7 to 9 in the elementary music room for beginners. High School Completion with Mary Hudek meets Thursdays 7 to 10 in the Public Library at no charge. Call 848-3881 to register.
Gayle Johnson of rural Pocahontas was elected chair of the Pocahontas County Extension Council at the 1975 organization meeting in Pocahontas Chow House. The roster includes Clifford L. Bailey as vice chair, Aud rey Simonson as secretary, and Julian Wadle as treasurer with a slate of township representatives and members across Laurens, Rolfe, Pocahontas, Fonda, and other townships. Mel Powers presented certificates to retiring members Ben L. Olson, Henry Roewe, and Gary Roewe for their years of service.
Seventeen children registered Tuesday for Rolfe Community School pre kindergarten classes allowing one semester before entering regular kindergarten. Mrs. Eggers will instruct the 24 hour program with a split schedule listing students by Monday Tuesday and Wednesday Thursday groups.
Sept John Harrington said classes at Rolfe Community School run until noon this Friday to make up snow time. Lunch will be served before dismissal. The Friday In Service meeting for faculty members remains on the calendar for all staff.
A 19 student BV College group will present a varied program at Rolfe Community School on Thursday January 23 at 2 00 PM. Featured will be a song written by Patricia Samson of Rolfe a BV group member. The public is invited.
Marvin Allen son of Mr and Mrs William F Allen of Rolfe completed eight weeks of Navy schooling in San Diego California after ten weeks of recruit training at Great Lakes. He is recently promoted to third class petty officer and serves as a mess management specialist aboard the U S American Aerate following holiday leave at home.
