Legion Post Carnival Brings In 68 Dollars In Net

The Im Eno Post of the American Legion held an indoor carnival and card party at Miller Hall last Saturday. The event featured card and cord games with many valuable merchandise items given away. The Legion boys cleared about 56 dollars, while the Auxiliary served lunches adding 12 dollars to their treasurer’s balance.

Mrs Roy Boysen Honored With Miscellaneous Shower

Mrs Roy Boysen was honored at a miscellaneous shower hosted at the B C Boysen home Wednesday of last week. Nearly 50 attended with Mrs H N Hamilton of Rolfe as an out of town guest. A social hour, games and stunts, recipe writing and advice for the bride followed by a lunch served by the hostess.

Mrs Henry Edge Honored at Community Shower

Mrs Henry Edge was honored with a variety shower at the M E church social rooms Thursday afternoon of last week. A large crowd attended despite bad weather. Activities included community singing a guessing contest and sharing home hints recipes and advice for the bride.

Robbery Attempt Fails At Larson Grocery Window

Friday evening last week a pair attempted to force entry at Larson grocery by smashing a window pane. The Larson family heard the crash, lit lights, and the prowlers fled. Sheriff Kapsch investigated from Pocahontas but found no clues or value.

Rebekahs Host Card Party Close of Regular Meeting

At Thursday’s close the Rebekahs held another popular card party with 49 players in a Progressive 500. J Wilson won high and Mrs F Fergs had low in the ladies division. Verne Waters took travel prize for men. Out of town guests included Mr and Mrs Joe Wilson Pocahontas and Mr and Mrs Les Hopkins Laurens. Committee members listed and a luncheon followed.
