The Havelock High and Junior High basketball teams traveled to Ware Friday night and each secured a win. The high school squad won 26 to 19 while the junior high led 18 to 7. Next, Havelock and Curlew clash on local floor Thursday December 19.

The Rebekahs hosted a progressive 500 card party at the I O O F Hall drawing about 50 attendees. Out of town guests included Mr and Mrs H N Hamilton Rolfe and others from Plover Mallard and Havelock with prizes won by Mrs C Searcey and T R Jones of Plover. A lunch was served to finish the evening.

Scorpion Found in Bananas at New Deal Grocery
A three inch scorpion emerged from a banana bunch at New Deal Grocery and ran across clerk Donald Meyers hand. It was captured and chloroforned and now rests in a bottle in Dr. Hunters collection.
