John H. Drobrovotny received a Master of Arts degree from Creighton University Omaha Nebraska after the summer session. He remains a member of the Rolfe School faculty. Mr and Mrs Andy Eikenberry attended the North Central Iowa Gladioli Show Sunday at Al gona High School gym. Ray Wolfe Leslie DeWolf Loren Hubbell Vernon Shimon and Mr and Mrs Rollie Mann attended the State Legion Convention in Des Moines the weekend of August 4.

Riches Cafe to Close After 9 PM Weeknights
The Riches Cafe will shut its doors at 9 o'clock on Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday nights. An inspiring patriotic ceremony dedicated the artistic new soldiers' shrine at St Margaret's Church on Sunday evening. The R B Club held a farewell party for Mrs Corliss Stegge Tuesday night. The Stegge family leaves Sunday for Oakland California where Mr Stegge hopes to find work.

Havelock Band Members Attend Concert and Local Racing News
Donald Davidson and Keith Rickard played with the Havelock band at a concert Wednesday evening. Ben Hurley raced horses at Pocahontas County Pair in Fonda, taking two firsts and one second in the half mile.
