Helen Anne Woods returned to Minneapolis after attending a wedding here. Harold Ferry and grandson Billy joined a Golden Sun picnic at Estherville. John Carlton visited grandparents in Rolfe and Fort Dodge. Mrs. Franklin Brinkman and son Tommy arrived from Savannah for a month’s visit. Abe DeVaul and others left for 15 days training at Fort Leonard Wood with the National Guard.

Thirty years ago Miss Pearl Harman Miss Di vonna Vaughn and Miss Marjorie Taylor all of Rolfe were among over 200 girls nominated for the state red head title. Brooks Gill of Laurens tended the Jones barber shop while Jones fished. Jimmy Anderson of Plover visited his sister Mrs Joseph McEwen. Fred Smith Rachel Spencer and daughters Arlene Marjorie and Joyce spent the week at the lakes. Mr and Mrs M W Webb and children traveled to Des Moines Tuesday for the Paycheck Strickland fight.

Farmers Cooperative Anniversary Celebration Near Gilmore City
The Farmers Cooperative marked its 1st anniversary opening of the main office at the cement plant north of Gilmore City with a large community gathering. Over 1,000 pounds of meat were prepared and 2,000 free dinners served as KVFD and the Barn Dance Gang entertained. a softball tournament starts Sunday.
